To dispel the stereotype, she wore a t-shirt and a skirt in the cover photo in Gear magazine. Jessica's appearance caused a lot of controversy with her fan base. The show she was on ended 7th Heaven after performing in its sixth season. Her performance was lauded as Casey Jackson, a teenage girl from Ulee's Gold that brought her fame. In this film, she was awarded Best Young Supporting Actress. Summer Catch, a comedy movie that she starred in was a testament to her talent as an actor. Despite her outstanding performance in the Rules of Attraction her film didn't receive much attention. The public was then drawn to her performance on The Texas Chainshaw Massacre. She's also featured in suspenseful film and proven herself to be an actress.
